Birthdate: 14 décembre 1968
Education: Sacha Goldberger works as an artistic director in advertising. In 2003 he went back to school, studying photography at the Gobelins Ecole d’Image in Paris. His series on Mamika gained immediate recognition, and was the subject of various exhibitions. In 2013, the series of superheroes in Flemish costume increased his visibility on the international scene, with shows at Paris Photo, Photo London or Photo Basel confirming his success with collectors.
Aesthetic: Sacha enjoys telling made up stories with a dash of madness and real attention to detail. In his often offbeat images, humour sits alongside tenderness, a lightness of touch reveals profound meaning and popular culture teams up with classic painting.
Influences: Painters Edward Hopper, Valsquez and Rembrandt, the filmmaker Tim Burton and photographers Stephen Shore, Erwin Olaf and Gregory Crewdson are among his influences..
