Paul Rousteau

Birthdate: 8 July 1985 (France)

Education: A free thinker and die-hard creative, Paul Rousteau went to the École Steiner Waldorf in France, followed by art studies at the École Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc in Tournai, Belgium, and nishing up with a photography course at the l’École des Arts Appliqué in Vevey, Switzerland. Both national and international publications (The New Yorker, M Le Monde, Dazed & Confused, i-D, etc.) as well as global brands (Cartier, Diptyque, Louis Vuitton, etc.) vie for his photographs.

Aesthetic: Paul Rousteau employs an approach based on colour. He reconstructs his visual stories in which the blended images are brought together through a shared colour palette.

Influences: Hieronymus Bosch and his triptych of paintings, e Garden of Earthly Delights, Art Brut, Claude Monet, the Apocalypse Tapestry, Henri Matisse, Fra Angelico, Pierre Bonnard and Waldorf Art.

2017 projects: Paris Photo in November with the Galerie du jour Agnès b., a solo exhibition with the Für Moderne Fotografie Gallery (Berlin), and another with the Galerie Forma (Lausanne) and a book for Louis Vuitton coming out at the end of 2018.
